What you will do
- Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal conditions for SOF personnel, prioritizing SOF operators and direct combat support personnel.
- Provide neuro-musculoskeletal injury care, including approved supplemental services such as imaging, laboratory testing, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, joint injections, aspirations, and specialty referrals.
- Supervise PT technicians, PT assistants, and certified athletic trainers when assigned.
- Advise human performance leadership on sports medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, research, administration, equipment, and fiscal planning.
- Conduct peer reviews, equipment and literature reviews, and contribute to clinical practice guidelines, databases, and performance standards.
- Document care, referrals, utilization, and other work in military electronic health records and enterprise databases while supporting training and data-reporting requirements.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Secret or Top Secret clearance required, or ability to obtain one.
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and ABPTS OCS or SCS certification, or NATA-certified athletic trainer credentials.
- At least five years of sustained manual therapy experience in sports medicine with individual and group athletes; NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, or SOF experience is preferred.
- Fluent written and spoken English required. Current American Heart Association BCLS certification must be maintained.
- Ability to train with SOF personnel, hike over rough terrain, work in austere environments, observe training evolutions, and lift or manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.
Nice to have
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
- Prior military or SOF experience.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential through NSCA.
