Nuclear Commissioning Engineer

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; on-site attendance required 1–2 days per month. The role is based in the North West UK and requires or may require SC security clearance.

Salary: GBP 40,000–60,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the commissioning capability function for complex nuclear-sector projects.
• Establish commissioning rules, tools, processes, and guidance during detailed design.
• Work with design teams to provide commissioning feedback, best practices, and constructive guidance.
• Develop and maintain commissioning assessment processes using SQEP principles.
• Improve commissioning capability and support large, complex programmes in a regulated environment.
• Ensure compliance with export control and DOE 810 nationality restrictions.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Commissioning experience in nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, or another heavily regulated industry.
• Experience establishing commissioning strategies and writing commissioning plans during detailed design.
• Experience delivering large, complex programmes of work.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent military experience.
