Experimental Quantum Engineer (R&D)

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and strategically upgrade cryostats and cryogenic measurement setups.
• Build and automate Python-based routines for device characterisation and hardware control.
• Perform precision measurements on novel R&D prototypes and analyse performance data.
• Lead root-cause analysis of measurement abnormalities with Design, Fabrication, and Measurement teams.
• Design cryogenic reliability studies and optimise setups for increasing throughput.
• Improve experiment documentation, data pipelines, and technical reporting.

Requirements

• MSc in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a quantum computing or quantum technology focus is preferred.
• Hands-on experience operating and maintaining low-temperature cryogenic systems, including dilution refrigerators, pulse-tube or 4 K cryostats, and wet helium or nitrogen systems.
• Strong knowledge of microwave and RF measurement techniques for superconducting qubits or other solid-state systems.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, instrumentation control, and test automation.
• Experience with Git for version control.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant field.
