Lead IT Network Administrator (Network, Voice, AV)

Location: Based in Aldershot, Basingstoke, Salisbury, Southampton, or Swindon, United Kingdom. UK Citizenship and current BPSS clearance or higher are required.

What you will do

• Configure, administer, and optimize complex Cisco networking environments, including Nexus switching, Cisco ISE, NDFC, Leaf-Spine, VXLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN, Viptela, and Meraki.
• Manage enterprise routing and switching across data centres, offices, cloud platforms, and remote access environments.
• Administer Palo Alto firewalls, network segmentation, access controls, VPNs, F5 BIG-IP load balancers, and Azure networking services.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network, cloud, security, and application connectivity issues using packet captures, traffic analysis, monitoring alerts, and telemetry.
• Deliver network upgrades, patching, hardware refreshes, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and service performance monitoring.
• Maintain documentation and support incident, problem, change, backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and operational resilience activities in collaboration with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, application, and third-party teams.

Requirements

• UK Citizenship and current BPSS clearance or higher.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking, including Nexus, Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, Leaf-Spine architectures, VXLAN, EVPN, and enterprise routing and switching.
• Experience administering Palo Alto firewalls, F5 BIG-IP load balancers, Microsoft Azure networking, and enterprise network security solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, Spanning Tree Protocol, link aggregation, VPNs, network access control, and authentication.
• Experience with network monitoring, packet capture, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and change-control skills in regulated and security-conscious environments.

Nice to have

• CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Data Center, Palo Alto, F5, or Microsoft Azure networking certifications.
• Experience in defence, government, aerospace, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience with Cisco TrustSec, Security Group Tags, Azure ExpressRoute, cloud interconnects, colocation facilities, SASE, or application delivery solutions.
• Automation and scripting experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience supporting global enterprise networks across multiple locations and telecommunications providers.
