Strategic Systems Engineer

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Travel is infrequent and working hours are standard.

Basic compensation: $121,000–$151,000 per year in El Segundo, California.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering and acquisition activities for Strategic SATCOM, NC3, and enterprise space systems.
• Develop architecture concepts, technical baselines, requirements, acquisition strategies, program plans, and modernization strategies.
• Conduct system trade studies and technical assessments covering cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
• Coordinate with government agencies, operational users, contractors, and external stakeholders to maintain mission alignment.
• Facilitate technical working groups, Integrated Product Teams, engineering reviews, milestone events, and acquisition decisions.
• Support CONOPS, operational analysis, mission planning, digital engineering, knowledge management, data management, and executive briefings.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience supporting DoD, Space Force, Air Force, Navy, or related acquisition programs.
• Experience with systems engineering, technical baseline management, satellite communications, space systems, ground systems, or terminal systems.
• Experience with ESS, Protected SATCOM, NC3, GPS, PNT, or MILSATCOM programs and Integrated Product Teams.
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition lifecycle processes, acquisition regulations, stakeholder coordination, and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience developing CONOPS, modernization initiatives, technology insertion efforts, trade studies, and architecture evaluations.
• Experience with international partners and joint-service organizations.
• Veteran, military officer, or government acquisition experience.
• Master’s degree, INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
