Data Platform Team Lead (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in the Modi'in office, with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop data and infrastructure engineers while establishing ownership, feedback loops, and growth plans.
• Own the architecture and evolution of the data infrastructure and platform services.
• Design and scale distributed systems and pipelines for event-driven, streaming, batch, and lakehouse architectures.
• Build infrastructure supporting product, machine-learning, and analytics use cases processing millions of daily transactions.
• Establish standards for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated testing, security, governance, and observability.
• Drive FinOps, reliability, incident response, compliance, and cross-functional platform initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing data, infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience architecting cloud-based data platforms and distributed systems for high-volume production environments.
• Strong knowledge of real-time streaming, event-driven systems, batch processing, storage, compute, data movement, and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS or a comparable public cloud, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and automated infrastructure or data-system testing.
• Experience with observability, SLOs, incident management, root-cause analysis, cloud-cost optimization, security, governance, and compliance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical decisions across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Kafka or other large-scale event-streaming technologies.
• Lakehouse architectures and modern data-platform tooling.
• Infrastructure for machine-learning, AI, or real-time decisioning systems.
• Experience in fintech, payments, fraud, or other high-volume transactional environments.
• Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native platform engineering, or AI-assisted engineering practices.
