VP R&D (FinTech)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and scale the engineering organization across Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and QA.
• Manage Directors, R&D Managers, and individual contributors while building a culture of ownership, innovation, transparency, and continuous delivery.
• Define technology strategy and architecture for a high-scale, highly available platform.
• Own end-to-end engineering delivery, ensuring predictable, timely, and high-quality product releases.
• Partner with the VP Product, CEO, and executive stakeholders to align engineering roadmaps with business and product objectives.
• Oversee AWS infrastructure, system performance, security, production monitoring, and operational excellence for a platform processing billions of dollars.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in senior R&D leadership roles.
• Experience managing managers and scaling engineering organizations from dozens to hundreds of engineers.
• Deep technical background in large-scale, highly available distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Strong familiarity with Node, TypeScript, AWS, NoSQL, Kubernetes, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience in hyper-growth startups, preferably in B2B SaaS, fintech, or gaming infrastructure.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and business acumen, including experience with high-volume transactional or payment-processing platforms.
