Principal Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; Orlando, Florida hub available.

hirify.global builds an AI operating system for specialty pharmacy that coordinates care, automates routine pharmacy workflows, and integrates with major US health systems.

What you will do

• Own architecture across multiple product areas and design systems capable of supporting 10–100x growth.
• Build production voice and SMS AI agents that communicate with real patients.
• Design evaluation, guardrail, and pharmacist-oversight systems for AI operating in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Develop deep integrations with Epic workflows, including queues and prior authorization automation.
• Design the target-state platform architecture and build the first stage of the migration.
• Drive AI engineering decisions involving model selection, context management, cost, latency, and evaluation methodology.

Requirements

• Deep, recent hands-on engineering experience building serious production systems.
• Staff+ experience in a high-bar engineering environment, with architectural decisions that remain in production.
• Hands-on experience building and operating LLM-based applications in production.
• High agency and the ability to identify and solve high-leverage technical problems independently.
• Must be based in the United States for the remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare systems, specialty pharmacy, Epic, prior authorization, or 340B compliance.
