Senior Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and evolve the data platform for agentic maritime products, including freshness, cost, cataloguing, governance, lineage, and quality monitoring.
• Build resilient batch and streaming pipelines with orchestration, idempotency, backfills, late-arriving data handling, and immutable raw data capture.
• Develop rigorous entity and relational data models using expert SQL across warehouses, lakes, and distributed processing environments.
• Design high-performance APIs with reliable contracts and response fields for provenance, freshness, and confidence.
• Apply time-series analysis, interpolation, extrapolation, uncertainty analysis, and clustering to weather and sensor data.
• Evaluate external data providers and collaborate with product teams, data scientists, and provider engineering teams to deliver customer value.

Requirements

• Senior-level data engineering experience with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Expert SQL and experience with Python-based data systems.
• Experience designing scalable batch and streaming pipelines, data models, APIs, and distributed data processing solutions.
• Understanding of data quality, freshness, lineage, schemas, feature management, data drift, and training-serving skew.
• Ability to reason about units, time zones, rounding, uncertainty, and confidence when analysing imperfect data.
• Ability to work end-to-end with product stakeholders and explain data issues to non-technical audiences.
