Mid/Senior Data Engineer (GCP)

Location: Bulgaria, Poland, or Romania; work from the European Union region with a required work permit

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting migration to BigQuery.
• Develop ingestion frameworks and transformation pipelines with strong data-quality controls.
• Orchestrate, monitor, and optimize data-processing workloads.
• Deliver production-grade data products for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders on migration and long-term platform sustainability.

Requirements

• Strong Python and SQL skills with hands-on Google BigQuery experience.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using structured and semi-structured data.
• Strong data modeling and schema design skills.
• Experience with Airflow, Cloud Composer, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD, data validation, testing, and monitoring.
• Work from the European Union region and a valid work permit are required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on dbt experience.
• BigQuery workload optimization and data platform modernization or migration experience.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, external API integration, data governance, lineage, and metadata management.
• Experience with data-platform observability, operational support, Looker, or other BI and analytics layers.
