AIX System Administrator

Location: Remote from Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, or the Czech Republic

What you will do

• Provision and decommission virtual and physical systems.
• Build, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain applicable servers.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions for server builds.
• Troubleshoot OS, hardware, storage, network, and customer issues, documenting resolutions and escalating complex incidents.
• Provide BAU Unix server management and L2/L1 escalation coverage.
• Follow Incident, Change, and Problem Management procedures, meet SLAs, and prepare management reports.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on AIX administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of AIX 6.1/7.x and IBM Power/pSeries environments.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of PowerVM and VIOS.
• Experience with AIX/Linux troubleshooting, system logs, processes, users, filesystems, networking, LVM, NFS, SAN, and multipathing.
• Good TCP/IP and basic network troubleshooting knowledge, plus Shell/Bash scripting skills.
• Fluent English and availability for B2B cooperation.

Nice to have

• Experience with HMC and PowerHA/HACMP.
• Knowledge of Red Hat, SLES, or Ubuntu Linux.
• Experience with VMware, KVM, Python, Perl, or Ansible automation.
