Senior POWER Systems Administrator (Hardware/VIOS/AIX)

Location: Remote within the United States, except California. Occasional onsite interviews or in-person onboarding may be required. Travel: 10%.

Salary: $88,650–$125,000 per year, based on location and experience.

What you will do

• Design and architect IBM POWER Systems infrastructure and virtualization solutions.
• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and optimize POWER Systems, VIOS, AIX, and related hardware.
• Monitor system performance and availability, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve customer and internal system problems.
• Manage backup, patching, restore testing, and periodic disaster recovery testing.
• Implement system enhancements, security policies, automation, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, maintenance windows, peer support, and limited supervision of technical objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience installing and maintaining IBM POWER Systems, VIOS, AIX, and HMC.
• Experience with POWER Systems infrastructure, virtualization, system monitoring, upgrades, backup, and recovery operations.
• Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call support and after-hours maintenance work as needed.
• Immigration sponsorship and support are not available; applicants must not require immigration support now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multiple POWER Systems and dual VIOS servers in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Live Partition Mobility and external storage arrays connected to POWER Systems servers.
• Experience with AIX scripting, POWERVC, shared storage pools, and automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Bachelor’s degree.
