Senior POWER Systems Admin (Hardware/VIOS/AIX)

Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California. Occasional onsite interviews or in-person onboarding may be required. Travel: 10%.

Salary: $88,650–$125,000 per year, based on location and experience.

What you will do

• Design and architect IBM POWER Systems infrastructure and virtualization solutions.
• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and monitor POWER Systems, networks, and related environments.
• Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency through infrastructure enhancements and automation.
• Manage backups, patching, restore testing, and periodic disaster recovery testing.
• Troubleshoot system incidents, implement security policies, and support operating systems and applications.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, maintenance windows, limited staff supervision, and peer mentoring.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience installing and maintaining IBM POWER Systems, VIOS, AIX, and HMC.
• Experience with system installation, performance monitoring, incident resolution, backup, patching, upgrades, and recovery testing.
• Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call support and after-hours maintenance work.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States, excluding California.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multiple POWER Systems and dual VIOS servers in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Live Partition Mobility and external storage arrays.
• Experience with AIX scripting, POWERVC, and shared storage pools.
• Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other automation tools.
• Bachelor’s degree.
