Legal & Regulatory Counsel (Financial Markets)

Location: Netherlands, Amsterdam

Pan-European market infrastructure group operating regulated markets and providing trading, listing, clearing, settlement, technology, and corporate services across Europe.

What you will do

• Analyse existing and upcoming legislation and regulation and assess their impact on business activities.
• Advise business teams on new products, services, and commercial initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Develop and implement legal and regulatory frameworks and policies.
• Advise on regulatory matters and engage with regulators and external stakeholders where relevant.
• Contribute to group-level legal and regulatory projects and support corporate and company secretarial matters.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with strong analytical and drafting skills and a commercial, business-oriented approach.
• About 3–8 years of experience in a multinational company, financial institution, law firm, or regulatory environment.
• Affinity with financial markets and financial regulation; direct experience is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to understand new legislation, financial products, and business issues and translate legal analysis into pragmatic solutions.
• Proactive, independent, and confident in taking ownership and forming clear legal positions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English. Dutch legal education is preferred.
