Data Engineer/Assoc. Commercial Data Architect (Pharmaceutical Data)

What you will do

• Translate commercial goals from sales, product strategy, market access, and finance teams into scalable data models and architecture.
• Design business-facing data layers, Databricks and Azure Lakehouse patterns, medallion architectures, and structured SQL Server schemas.
• Manage and improve datasets covering customers, sales effectiveness, master data, and specialty pharmacy.
• Structure data for dashboards, forecasting pipelines, and performance tracking systems.
• Support the integration and governance of pharmaceutical data sources, including IQVIA Xponent, 867 data, and specialty pharmacy feeds.
• Implement data standards, naming conventions, lineage, and quality controls while clarifying requirements with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, or a similar data-related role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, SQL, modern cloud data platforms, and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or a similar cloud data platform; Databricks is preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial application architecture and supporting data and processes for CRM, MDM, and reporting platforms.
• Experience with pharmaceutical, customer, marketing, or finance data and with BRDs, functional specifications, data dictionaries, or process diagrams.
