TL;DR
Lead Test Automation Engineer (Java/Selenium/Playwright): Transforming fragmented automation across legacy and modern web and mobile financial products into a unified, scalable quality ecosystem with an accent on framework architecture, coverage, and CI/CD integration. Focus on redesigning reusable Java-based automation frameworks, building UI, API, integration, cross-browser, and mobile suites, and leading engineers toward secure, compliant, and reliable releases.
Location: Bulgaria or Poland; remote or office-based

What you will do
- Assess automation across legacy and modern web and mobile products, identifying technical debt, risks, coverage gaps, and quick wins.
- Define a long-term quality roadmap aligned with security, compliance, reliability, and release-readiness goals.
- Redesign Java-based Selenium and Playwright frameworks with reusable libraries, consistent design patterns, coding standards, and maintainable architecture.
- Build scalable automated suites across UI, API, integration, cross-browser, and mobile layers with effective test data management and reporting.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and release processes, partnering with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor automation engineers through hands-on guidance, code reviews, upskilling, and evaluation of AI-assisted testing and cloud execution.
Requirements
- 8+ years of test automation experience, including 3+ years as a Test Automation Lead or Architect and experience modernizing legacy environments.
- Advanced Java, Selenium, and Playwright expertise, including reusable libraries and design patterns.
- Web and mobile automation experience across UI, API, and integration layers, including BrowserStack or similar device execution.
- Knowledge of test data management and reporting tools such as Allure, ExtentReports, or ReportPortal.
- Strong Git and CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Experience in regulated financial services, capital markets, or fintech, plus strong stakeholder communication, leadership, and mentoring skills. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
