Software Engineering Manager, Backend (C#/.NET)

Location: Hybrid role associated with Dublin, Ireland

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day operations for a backend engineering team, including sprint planning, execution, delivery, and team rituals.
• Own the team roadmap and priorities, aligning engineering work with product and business objectives.
• Coach engineers, provide feedback, and support career development and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate architectural discussions and design sessions for scalable platform and product solutions.
• Serve as the technical point of accountability, contributing to code reviews, architecture decisions, and hands-on development when needed.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to deliver complex projects under tight deadlines while promoting quality, security, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• At least two years of experience managing software engineering teams and driving technical excellence.
• Experience leading cross-functional development teams through the full software lifecycle, from scoping and design through release and maintenance.
• Strong mentorship and leadership capabilities with experience building high-performing, collaborative teams.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language, such as C# or Java, plus hands-on experience with .NET Framework or .NET Core.
• Experience with distributed systems, Kafka or similar message brokers, and AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
