Senior C++ Software Engineer

Location: Romania; remote or office work

What you will do

• Analyze security requirements and documented security findings.
• Implement security-related changes in a large-scale healthcare product.
• Remediate buffer overflows, memory corruption, unsafe input and length handling, and SQL injection vulnerabilities.
• Work with legacy C++ code involving pointers, manual memory management, and memory-sensitive logic.
• Maintain threading components and assess technical impact and regression risks.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and collaboration with client developers and architects.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with C++ and mature or legacy C++ codebases.
• Advanced knowledge of pointers, pointer arithmetic, manual memory management, bounds checking, and memory safety.
• Experience identifying and remediating native-code vulnerabilities.
• Practical experience with multithreaded applications and thread-safe development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design, SQL, and secure database interaction.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Qt or other desktop UI frameworks.
• Experience developing Windows or Windows Server enterprise applications.
• Oracle Database experience.
• Exposure to ISAM or other legacy data-storage technologies.
