Automation Engineer II - AP Formulation/WS

Location: Lexington, Massachusetts, United States; Conditions also list Clayton, North Carolina. Travel up to 10% required.

What you will do

• Ensure new processes and equipment comply with local, global, line-of-business, and regulatory standards.
• Work with local and global project teams to translate user requirements into equipment designs ready for installation, qualification, and ramp-up.
• Develop vendor interface agreements and align technical requirements with equipment suppliers.
• Implement plans to maintain and improve process control system reliability, automation standards, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate execution with manufacturing schedules, support budgets, change management, and new SOP development.
• Serve as a process control systems subject matter expert during audits and inspections while coaching colleagues and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university, with a minimum of five years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities, or packaging systems.
• Seven years of relevant engineering experience may be considered in place of a bachelor's degree; nine years may be considered with a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of SAP EM, PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL databases, Historian, and general controls.
• Demonstrated expertise in planning, organization, project execution, follow-up, and completion.
• Ability to work in an open office environment and travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP EWM.
• Warehouse automation equipment knowledge, including automated storage and retrieval systems, automated guided vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, and conveyor systems.
• Experience translating high-level direction into actionable tasks using cLEAN or Six Sigma methodologies.
