Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer (BAS/PLC Automation)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership to automation engineers supporting GMP drug substance plant operations.
• Design and deliver building automation systems and PLC-based process and utility skid equipment for a new manufacturing facility.
• Develop engineering, maintenance, validation, and data integrity documentation in collaboration with QA.
• Support commissioning, qualification, automation installation verification, automation checkout, and project readiness activities.
• Lead vendor factory acceptance testing and ensure control strategies and software meet specifications.
• Own operational systems, change controls, CAPAs, deviations, root cause investigations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED with 10 years of engineering experience, associate degree with 8 years, bachelor's degree with 4 years, master's degree with 2 years, or a doctorate.
• Experience with building automation systems, PLCs, field instrumentation, utility equipment, and OEM automation software integration.
• Experience designing, programming, installing, and managing the lifecycle of building automation controls and PLC systems.
• Knowledge of GMP/GAMP requirements and regulated-industry standards including 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S95, GAMP 5, and GDP.
• Strong leadership, technical writing, communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
