Network Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $162,000 – $202,000

What you will do

• Own external connectivity including carriers, dark fiber, internet exchanges, and cloud interconnects.
• Plan backbone capacity between sites to meet future traffic demands.
• Negotiate technical terms and contracts with carriers and fiber providers.
• Develop and maintain the connectivity roadmap, focusing on diversity, latency, and cost-efficiency.
• Hold carriers accountable to SLAs through established escalation paths.

Requirements

• Proven experience engineering carrier and long-haul connectivity at scale.
• Expertise in procuring dark fiber and lit services with a deep understanding of contract risk.
• Ability to plan capacity using data-driven forecasting.
• Experience building and managing carrier escalation paths for SLAs.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with long-haul and subsea systems.
• Knowledge of DWDM and peering strategy.
• Proficiency in fiber route analysis.
