What you will do

  • Develop next-generation CHO cell line platforms for recombinant antibodies and complex biologics.
  • Design and test vector constructs and engineer host cells to improve stable-cell-line mAb titers.
  • Execute transfection, clone-generation, screening, and clone-characterization campaigns.
  • Apply molecular and cellular assays, including DNA copy-number, RNA expression, titer, flow cytometry, ddPCR, and RT-qPCR analysis.
  • Operate and interpret data from Octet, ViCell, CloneSelect Imager, Beacon, and related CLD instrumentation.
  • Prepare technical reports, present findings, and collaborate with cell culture, analytical, purification, and bioinformatics colleagues.

Requirements

  • BS with 10+ years of relevant experience, MS with 8+ years, or PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing vector improvements to increase recombinant antibody expression in stable CHO cells.
  • Strong understanding of mammalian protein expression, including genomic and epigenetic regulation, transcription, translation, mRNA stability, and protein secretion.
  • Proficiency with Geneious Prime or similar software for DNA vector, primer, and probe design and sequence alignment.
  • Experience with CRISPR/Cas or comparable tools for knocking genes in or out, plus proficiency in mammalian cell culture and CLD instrumentation.
  • Strong scientific communication, data interpretation, multitasking, timeline management, and digital laboratory notebook documentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Industry cell line development experience in a CMC or drug-substance environment.
  • Experience developing CHO expression platforms for GMP manufacturing.
  • Experience with flow cytometry, expression-engineering strategies, and next-generation sequencing for genomic DNA or RNA analysis.
  • Programming and data-science skills in Python or R for analysis and visualization.
