Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Elyria, Ohio, United States; onsite, 2nd shift Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:30pm. Training may take place on 1st shift from 6:30am-3:00pm for up to 6 months.

What you will do

• Perform production, experimental, casting, assembly, tooling, fixture, and measuring-equipment inspections against plans, blueprints, manufacturing outlines, and published specifications.
• Create inspection plans, pull required inspection plans, request gauges, and perform dimensional verification using CMMs, surface plates, and standard inspection equipment.
• Review product test data and shipping documents for compliance with test specifications, contracts, purchase orders, and blueprint revisions.
• Document non-conformances and complete inspection records, job routers, NCRs, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets.
• Prepare raw material samples, maintain charts and process records, and ensure materials are cleaned, identified, protected, and properly stacked.
• Work with customers and suppliers, support continuous improvement and 5S activities, and perform routine maintenance and safety checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma and basic reading, writing, mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry skills.
• Previous CMM and surface plate inspection experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions.
• Experience with rotary tables, height stands, electro limit/shadow gauges, comparators, sine bars, profilometers, and micrometers.
• Proficient computer knowledge and the ability to apply detailed inspection techniques and complete required documentation.
• Access to controlled data may be restricted to US Persons under ITAR requirements. Ability to pass the required annual near-vision and color-vision examination, background check, and applicable drug testing.
