Fraud Investigation Specialist (Security)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite. International travel may be required for investigations, up to 20%.

Salary: $84,500–$162,000 per year, plus eligibility for short-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Conduct objective investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, policy violations, and other security incidents.
• Gather, analyze, and manage evidence in accordance with legal standards and organizational policies.
• Prepare investigation reports with findings, conclusions, and corrective-action recommendations.
• Collaborate with HR, legal, IT, and other stakeholders to address security concerns and implement preventive measures.
• Liaise with local, national, and international law enforcement agencies when required.
• Monitor global security intelligence, develop prevention and response strategies, and deliver employee security awareness training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of investigation experience.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory standards related to security and investigations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards when handling sensitive information.
• Willingness to travel internationally for investigations, up to 20%.

Nice to have

• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification.
• Multilingual skills relevant to the regions of operation.
