Senior Counsel, AI Legal International Policy & Contracts (AI)

Salary: USD 160,500–305,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead global AI regulatory, policy, governance, and contracting strategies across business functions and international markets.
• Monitor and interpret AI regulations, including the EU AI Act and regimes in China, Japan, Australia, and Brazil, and advise on business impact.
• Partner with Privacy, Compliance, Ethics, and Government Affairs teams on cross-border AI deployment, data transfers, localization, and compliance obligations.
• Develop AI contracting standards and model clauses covering data usage, training rights, liability, indemnification, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex vendor, data, and strategic partnership agreements involving AI.
• Brief executive leadership and the Board/Audit Committee on AI regulatory developments, high-risk use cases, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor or equivalent and active bar membership.
• At least 5 years of legal experience; 10 years preferred.
• Deep expertise in technology law, global regulatory frameworks, and data privacy.
• Experience advising on cross-border regulatory issues and negotiating complex technology and AI-related agreements.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, judgment, and risk-management skills.
• Ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable business guidance.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act and GDPR.
• Experience in life sciences or another highly regulated industry.
• Background collaborating with government affairs teams or regulatory bodies.
