Senior Accountant (Biotechnology)

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $70,000–$87,000 USD annually, plus additional compensation and benefits.

A biotechnology company developing cell-free DNA testing and personalized genetic diagnostics for oncology, women's health, and organ health.

What you will do

• Prepare monthly clinical trial accruals, prepaid expense roll-forwards, reconciliations, and R&D cost allocations in accordance with ASC 730.
• Collect enrollment, site activity, and milestone data and review CRO and clinical site invoices against contracts.
• Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and month-end close activities.
• Investigate accounting errors, variances, financial trends, and reporting or control issues.
• Execute SOX 404(b) controls and support internal and external audit requests.
• Improve accounting workflows through automation, scalability, and month-end close optimization.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of accounting or audit experience, with public accounting or audit experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, GAAP, and ASC 730 R&D accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.

Nice to have

• Big Four experience, CPA certification, or experience in biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience with R&D or clinical trial accounting, CRO and vendor management, or life sciences accounting processes.
• Oracle Fusion ERP and Google Workspace experience.
