API Developer (Node.js)

Location: Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines; on-site

What you will do

• Integrate backend core systems with front-end applications through scalable API development.
• Build secure, maintainable APIs and microservices for deployment through an API gateway platform.
• Implement API security controls, including rate limiting, JWT, OAuth, and API keys.
• Participate in the end-to-end software development life cycle and collaborate in an agile team.
• Debug production issues, provide L3 support, and develop unit tests.
• Write API documentation and conduct technical knowledge transfer for support and development teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in API development.
• Experience with IBM API Connect or an equivalent API gateway platform.
• Experience developing RESTful and SOAP web services with JavaScript/Node.js and NestJS.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL database queries, Docker, GitLab repositories, and the Linux CLI.
• Experience implementing API security controls and supporting production issues at L3 level.
• Ability to produce comprehensive API documentation, transfer technical knowledge, communicate effectively, and follow agile practices.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized workflows.
• Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift on AWS and other AWS cloud products.
• Experience with React, Vue.js, TypeScript, IBM API Connect, and SQL.
