Senior Technical Recruiter (Defense Technology)

Location: On-site in Huntington Beach, California, United States. U.S. work authorization is required; employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without sponsorship for an export license.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Partner with engineering and leadership teams to define role requirements and create compelling job descriptions.
• Source, screen, interview, and close technical candidates through multiple channels, including LinkedIn, technical forums, and industry events.
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle through offer negotiation and onboarding coordination.
• Build talent pipelines for high-priority and hard-to-fill mechanical, electrical, software, and GNC roles.
• Implement scalable recruiting processes and tools to improve hiring efficiency and candidate experience.
• Advise on talent market trends, compensation benchmarking, and candidate engagement while representing Mach at recruiting events and university partnerships.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in technical recruiting, business operations, or sales in deep tech or hard tech, or a bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated success sourcing and closing technical candidates in competitive markets.
• Strong understanding of engineering roles and organizational structures.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.
• Obsession with building excellent teams.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting in startup or high-growth environments.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense contracting or cleared hiring processes.
• Proficiency with Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter.
• Passion for emerging defense technology and national security innovation.
• Experience building and scaling recruitment processes from the ground up.
