Senior Director I, AP Physics Generalist, Curriculum and Assessment (AI)

Location: Remote in the USA. Employees near hirify.global offices may choose fully remote or hybrid work with in-office attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional business travel is required, including 6–8 trips per year and up to two additional weeks for AP Reading.

Salary: $112,000–$165,000 annually, adjusted based on location, experience, qualifications, and market data.

What you will do

• Lead AP Physics assessment development, content review, test-form creation, and final approval across multiple assessment workstreams.
• Develop and manage formative and summative assessment content, scoring materials, task models, and exam specifications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan and facilitate AP Physics Test Development Committee meetings, train committee members, and resolve post-meeting content revisions.
• Lead the annual AP Reading, including scoring operations, workflow planning, reader reliability, and publications for teachers and students.
• Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and cut scores in collaboration with psychometricians and AP colleagues.
• Improve the AP Physics course framework and support new products addressing teacher instructional needs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Physics or a directly related discipline; a doctorate is strongly preferred.
• Physics expertise and at least 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work.
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational, planning, technical, collaboration, and proofreading skills.
• Experience implementing processes, managing project plans and schedules, maintaining documentation, and working with diverse stakeholders.
• Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel 6–8 times per year plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading.
