TL;DR
Systems Integration and Test Engineer (SATCOM): Supporting U.S. Government Protected Tactical SATCOM program integration and test activities with an accent on system-of-systems interoperability, contractor AI&T oversight, and technical readiness assessment. Focus on evaluating spacecraft, payload, ground-system, and terminal integration, identifying technical risks and anomalies, and developing recommendations for government program decisions.

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States

Basic compensation: $135,000–$169,000 per year in California

What you will do

  • Support the U.S. Government Space Force Protected Tactical SATCOM Program Office and its acquisition, technical execution, schedule, cost, and program activities.
  • Support government-led system-of-systems integration and testing across space vehicles, payloads, ground systems, terminals, and enterprise interfaces.
  • Assess prime contractor spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test activities, readiness, test execution, and problem-resolution effectiveness.
  • Identify technical issues, anomalies, integration risks, and impacts on cost, schedule, quality, technical margins, and operational capability.
  • Prepare written and verbal assessments and communicate actionable technical recommendations to government stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support requirements analysis, acquisition documentation, configuration and compliance reviews, test planning, verification, and validation.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience with SATCOM requirements development, Assembly, Integration, and Test, system testing, and production activities.
  • Experience supporting program-office technical, schedule, cost, risk, and issue-management activities.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and assessing spacecraft, payload hardware, and SATCOM ground systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and independent execution skills.

Nice to have

  • Secret or higher security clearance.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with system-of-systems integration and testing across space, ground, and user segments.
  • Familiarity with government test frameworks, verification strategies, integration planning, Class I changes, configuration management, and technical baselines.
  • CSEP, ESEP, PMI, or PMP certification.
