Lead Test Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working with two days per week in the office

What you will do

• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using C#, .NET, Playwright, Reqnroll and related testing technologies.
• Create and execute automated tests across web, API and integration layers, including functional and non-functional testing.
• Define automation strategy, standards and best practices across multiple Agile development teams.
• Improve the effectiveness, reliability and performance of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and product teams to identify risks, review requirements and build quality into products early.
• Mentor engineers and explore AI-assisted testing approaches to improve testing productivity and software quality.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing automated test frameworks and tests with C#/.NET.
• Experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium and Reqnroll, plus BDD practices.
• Strong API testing experience and experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of quality engineering, Agile delivery, Scrum, testing life cycles and risk-based testing.
• Experience providing technical leadership, coaching and mentoring in automated testing.
• Degree-level qualification in Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
