TL;DR
Principal QA Engineer (Cloud SaaS): Shaping quality engineering strategy across a multi-tenant software supply chain platform with an accent on test automation, distributed cloud infrastructure, and safe deployment practices. Focus on building quality capability across engineering teams, defining meaningful quality metrics, and reducing deployment blast radius through feature flags and staged rollouts.
Location: Remote-first, but must be based in Ireland or the United Kingdom and have the right to work independently without requiring sponsorship. Regular monthly travel for team meetings and quarterly travel for events and customers may be required.

What you will do
- Define and drive the quality engineering strategy across the platform, including testing approaches, release confidence, and quality standards.
- Build quality capability in engineering teams through pairing, workshops, risk discussions, and coverage reviews.
- Design quality metrics that support decisions about reliability, quality, and performance.
- Shape safe delivery practices across feature flags, canary deployments, staged rollouts, and blast-radius reduction.
- Raise quality culture through documentation, internal talks, working groups, and guidance on coverage, risk, and testability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of QA or quality engineering experience, including organizational-level testing strategy and recent senior or lead experience.
- Experience testing distributed cloud infrastructure at scale, with strong AWS knowledge and an understanding of distributed-system failure modes.
- Deep expertise in test automation, including E2E frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress, API testing, and CI/CD integrations.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native delivery, feature flags, staged rollouts, and release management.
- Ability to identify systemic risk, interpret coverage gaps, and drive structural improvements.
- Must be based in Ireland or the United Kingdom and able to work without visa sponsorship.
