IT Systems Engineer, Mobile Client Platform Engineer

Location: Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, or Washington, DC; remote-friendly with travel required. All staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

What you will do

• Design and launch a corporate-issued mobile device program across Anthropic’s regions, including device standards, procurement, regional logistics, spares, and refresh cycles.
• Bring iOS and Android mobile configuration into a configuration-as-code pipeline with pull requests, CI, staging, canary groups, and progressive rollouts.
• Build zero-touch enrollment using Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrollment, managed Apple accounts, and Android enrollment capabilities.
• Own device policy, compliance, lifecycle management, telemetry, patch-state monitoring, and managed mobile application distribution.
• Partner with Corporate Security on device posture, trust signals, travel devices, and the coexistence of corporate-issued devices with BYOD.

Requirements

• 8+ years managing corporate mobile fleets at thousands-of-devices scale, including ownership of a global or multi-region program.
• Deep experience with iOS device management, Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrollment, APNs, certificate lifecycle, and declarative device management.
• Working knowledge of Android device management and modern MDM or UEM platforms such as Jamf, Intune, or Workspace ONE.
• Experience running MDM infrastructure, including self-hosted servers, AWS or GCP, Terraform, live device-state queries, and mobile lifecycle automation.
• Strong Python and shell scripting, GitOps and CI for configuration management, endpoint security fundamentals, technical communication, and documentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience managing ChromeOS alongside mobile devices and operating programs across multiple regions.
• Experience building telemetry-gated progressive rollout systems.
• Swift proficiency for device tooling.
• Experience using LLMs to automate operational work.
