Software Engineer (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Develop software interfaces for industrial machines, PLCs, and manufacturing equipment.
• Create human-machine interfaces for technicians to control and monitor industrial automation.
• Integrate automated manufacturing systems into factory operations.
• Build data logging pipelines for connected devices supporting operational planning and factory scheduling.
• Collaborate with robotics, mechanical, controls, engineering, and operations teams to deploy and upgrade manufacturing cells.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or C#.
• Ability and willingness to work directly with hardware on the factory floor.
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete information and deliver complex systems on schedule.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with manufacturing, industrial automation, or 3D printing systems.
• Familiarity with OPC UA, Profinet, or other industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with electronics, embedded systems, TCP/IP, socket programming, real-time or safety-critical systems, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or simulation.
