Robotics Engineer (Software): Government Projects

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 per year, plus potential equity and bonus

What you will do

• Develop algorithms, software systems, and architecture for high-DOF robotic systems used in manufacturing.
• Lead implementation, deployment, support, and maintenance of specialized robotic systems for government facilities.
• Execute proof-of-concept projects, pilot demonstrations, and R&D feature development.
• Evaluate and test state-of-the-art algorithms for planning, learning, perception, and control.
• Prototype and integrate inspection sensors, tools, and processes in partnership with sensor vendors.
• Collaborate with systems, applications, and robotics software engineers to transition prototypes into the product codebase.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• At least 2 years of industry experience developing, implementing, and testing robotics algorithms.
• Experience developing complex software that interacts with sensor inputs, control loops, and redundancy.
• Production-level proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Proficiency with ROS2 and relevant open-source robotics libraries.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet U.S. government export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of experience deploying complex robotics systems in production.
• Robotics R&D experience.
• Experience with LiDARs, stereo/depth cameras, and 6DOF robot arms.
• Experience with state-of-the-art robotics algorithms such as VLA.
