What you will do

  • Lead development projects for sensors, end effectors, motion systems, and other robotic manufacturing devices.
  • Define requirements, design solutions, and integrate new equipment with existing robot cells.
  • Commission EtherCAT networks and safety systems using TwinCAT and TwinSAFE.
  • Configure Kuka robot systems, drive systems, motors, peripherals, SafeOp, and I/O.
  • Calibrate and verify robot-cell operation using industrial metrology and tracking systems.
  • Design, fabricate, debug, and support low-voltage electrical enclosures, robot-cell code, and production or R&D operations.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or extensive hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems for industrial robotics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues and ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Experience with EtherCAT, CANbus, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, FSoE, and profiSAFE.
  • Experience with functional safety standards ISO 13849 and ISO 61508 and risk assessment under ISO 12100.
  • Knowledge of motion, kinematics, reachability studies, servo control, accuracy, calibration, path planning, and Git or other revision-control systems.

Nice to have

  • Structured Text, PLC configuration, CAD/CAM, and electrical or mechanical design experience.
  • Control theory, system identification, agile development, and systems test engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, ROS, Linux, or Bash.
  • Advanced motion control, computer vision, sensor fusion, verification, and validation experience.
