UI/UX Designer (Aerospace)

Location: Remote, but must reside in the Colorado Springs area, United States. Minimal travel and standard working hours.

Salary: $103,200–$154,700 annually for the Colorado Springs area. Additional bonuses, incentives, sign-on bonuses, or relocation benefits may be available depending on the role and policy.

Work on mission-critical U.S. Space Force operations involving space communications, space domain awareness, defense technology, cloud-native systems, and DevSecOps.

What you will do

• Conduct research to discover and define design opportunities for end users.
• Develop and compare multiple design options, assessing the benefits and risks of each approach.
• Create and maintain components, design patterns, design systems, style guides, prototypes, and finished solutions.
• Communicate design decisions to users, stakeholders, management, product managers, and software engineers.
• Collaborate with developers throughout implementation to maintain design consistency and solve user problems effectively.
• Guide the overall visual direction and enforce design standards while mentoring junior designers.

Requirements

• Must reside in the Colorado Springs area.
• Active U.S. government Secret security clearance required, with the ability to obtain SCI SI/TK; U.S. citizenship is required for this clearance.
• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related discipline, with at least two years of experience designing websites and applications.
• Proficiency with prototyping and collaboration tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, and Axure.
• Experience with design collaboration and version-control tools such as Abstract, Zeplin, and Storybook.
• Experience designing responsive desktop and mobile web interfaces, applying Agile methodologies, and working with CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, HTML5, Angular, and REST APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, healthcare, finance, or another related industry.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Python for data visualization.
• Experience defining KPIs and using data to make product recommendations.
