Graphic Arts/UI/UX Designer

Location: Remote from a home office in the United States; occasional travel for meetings, collaboration, or team-building activities may be required. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Salary: $57,000–$62,000 annually, with annual bonus potential. This is a temporary position and is not eligible for company benefits.

What you will do

• Support the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of moderately complex web-based and distributed applications.
• Contribute to project deliverables, coding, system testing, and technical documentation.
• Create system documentation, including screen designs, structure charts, data flow diagrams, file layouts, and report layouts.
• Apply structured systems analysis and design practices to evaluate information systems and component dependencies.
• Analyze business problems, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems in test, development, or production environments.
• Collaborate with business partners, developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to communicate and refine design concepts.

Requirements

• College coursework in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Experience with distributed or web-based system development.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as COBOL II or J2E and database systems such as IMS DB, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, or Access.
• Knowledge of HTML, PC productivity tools, systems operation practices, structured analysis, programming, and testing.
• Strong analytical, investigative, communication, troubleshooting, and technical writing skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Centered Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Coursework, internship, academic, volunteer, or professional experience in UI, UX, or digital product design.
• Portfolio demonstrating wireframing, prototyping, visual design, user research, or web and mobile experience design.
• Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar tools.
• Understanding of user-centered design, usability, responsive design, information architecture, accessibility, design systems, and Agile methodologies.
