Facilities Technician I

Location: Onsite in Penrose, CO and Pueblo, CO, United States

What you will do

• Perform general facilities maintenance, minor repairs, equipment upkeep, inspections, and preventive maintenance according to work orders and standard procedures.
• Maintain grounds and infrastructure, including fencing, gates, signage, utility enclosures, storage structures, access roads, pads, and vehicle paths.
• Install and inspect erosion-control measures, maintain earthen berms, and perform grading, shaping, compacting, and related earthwork.
• Monitor stormwater features such as ditches, swales, retention areas, and culverts.
• Support environmental compliance through spill-containment inspections, hazardous-waste storage upkeep, and secondary-containment maintenance.
• Document work, report safety incidents and facility deficiencies, maintain orderly work areas, and support scheduled and emergency work orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools, maintenance equipment, and systems.
• Ability to follow written instructions and controlled safety procedures, complete documentation, and use Word, Excel, or an ERP system.
• One to three years of facilities maintenance, general maintenance, or related trade experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical outdoor work, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, digging, grading, and shoveling.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and meet U.S. Person eligibility requirements for ITAR/EAR compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience with erosion control, earthwork, berm construction, civil/site maintenance, or stormwater permits.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience operating skid steers, tractors, or light earthmoving equipment.
