Captive Accounting Manager (Insurance)

Location: Colchester, Vermont, USA, or remote within the United States

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annual

Brown & Brown’s Risk Solutions team provides insurance risk and captive management services.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day accounting and financial activities for a portfolio of captive insurance companies.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statement packages and management reports under GAAP, IFRS, SAP, and modified GAAP.
• Maintain general ledgers, reconciliations, customized financial reports, budgets, cash-flow monitoring, and ad hoc reporting.
• Prepare and review regulatory filings, premium tax returns, NAIC filings, audit reports, and compliance testing.
• Coordinate auditors, actuaries, tax authorities, regulators, investment professionals, lawyers, TPAs, and bankers.
• Present financial information to clients, shareholders, and boards while training and developing teammates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in a position with similar duties.
• Critical thinking, initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work with minimal errors.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, customer service, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office, word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry.
