Quality Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States; onsite with full-time presence required

What you will do

• Drive engineering and supplier quality root-cause analysis and resolution for an assigned vehicle area: interior, exterior/body, or chassis/powertrain.
• Partner with program, quality, launch, and plant leaders to set priorities and maintain quality discipline.
• Monitor quality metrics, facilitate issue containment, install countermeasures, and track progress toward quality targets.
• Create and distribute part quality specifications based on design technical specifications.
• Provide quality status updates during Program Quality and Readiness Reviews and other launch meetings, including guidance on proceed or do-not-proceed decisions.
• Co-lead the Issue Resolution Team as the plant lead, ensuring communication, documentation, containment, and resolution of issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience in design release, quality engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, structured problem solving, and crisis communication.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, business, and decision-making skills, including the ability to manage complex, high-pressure situations with limited information.
• Flexibility to occasionally rotate between first, second, and third shifts.
• Must be able to work onsite at the Lansing, Michigan location and must not require immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future.
