Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist (CNC)

Location: Onsite at the Brooklyn Park, Minnesota CNC facility; role limited to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, or qualifying refugees/asylees under ITAR regulations.

What you will do

• Translate CNC site priorities into a continuous improvement strategy and actionable roadmap.
• Assess operational performance and identify systemic barriers affecting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee effectiveness.
• Lead cross-functional value stream analysis, redesign initiatives, complex Kaizen events, and structured improvement activities.
• Coach leaders and frontline teams in root cause analysis, countermeasure development, experimentation, verification, and sustainment.
• Establish daily management systems, visual management, tiered accountability, escalation routines, leader standard work, and standardized work.
• Define operational KPIs, validate benefits with Finance, communicate results, and support adoption of new ways of working.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, industrial engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Lean, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or a related discipline, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience leading complex improvement initiatives across multiple processes, departments, or functions.
• Experience building daily management systems, leader standard work, standardized work, and structured problem-solving capability.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations and the ability to work credibly in a CNC production environment; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or foreign national with qualifying refugee or asylee status. Temporary visa holders are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Change management certification or experience, including Prosci or ADKAR.
• Experience with CNC machining, high-mix manufacturing, digital manufacturing, or site-level operating systems.
• Experience with A3, PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, leadership development, coaching, or organizational development.
• Familiarity with Power BI and Finance-based benefits validation.
