What you will do

  • Lead cross-functional teams through manufacturing process improvements, standardization, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Facilitate Kaizen, process mapping, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, 5S, and standard work events.
  • Conduct process walks and operator observations to reduce variation and improve production processes.
  • Lead APQP initiatives, including PFMEA, control plans, and SPC, to integrate quality upstream into design.
  • Verify and validate improvements, identify opportunities for broader implementation, and maintain a quality metrics dashboard.
  • Support updates to QMS procedures, work instructions, and forms while developing a continuous improvement program and training approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated competence.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, including hands-on delivery of continuous improvement projects through verified closure.
  • Proficiency in structured root cause analysis methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, or DIVE, along with APQP and PFMEA.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100D and 14 CFR Part 21 requirements.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, understand GD&T, and interpret inspection data.
  • Strong self-direction, indirect influence, team leadership, emotional intelligence, and audience adaptation skills.

Nice to have

  • AS9100D Lead Auditor certification.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, factory floor layouts, kanbans, inventory management, and visual factories.
