Lead Data Engineer (GCP)

Location: Remote, associated with Nashville, United States

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, architect, develop, and support GCP data pipelines for extracting, loading, and transforming data.
• Build and optimize Python-based ELT pipelines and BigQuery SQL queries and scripts.
• Document how information assets are stored, processed, and supported.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Estimate and plan project work while leading technical projects and teams.
• Participate in daily team standups and support delivery activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or Data Architect.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and teams.
• Expertise with Google Cloud Platform tools, including GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, and Spark.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing, tuning, and interpreting complex queries.
• Experience with Python-based ELT pipelines, Unix/Linux shell scripting, DBT, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with machine learning, data analysis, problem-solving, and a business intelligence tool.
