Lead Data Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote; the opportunity supports healthcare data initiatives with the team in Nashville.

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design, architect, develop, and support GCP data pipelines for extracting, loading, and transforming data.
• Build and maintain documentation showing how information assets are stored, processed, and supported.
• Collaborate with project teams to estimate, plan, and deliver engineering work.
• Work with business analysts and project management to translate business requirements into technical design specifications.
• Develop data solutions that support machine learning, data-driven decision-making, and improved patient outcomes.
• Participate in daily team standups and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or Data Architect.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and teams.
• Expertise with Google Cloud Platform, including Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, and Dataproc/Spark.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing, tuning, and interpreting complex queries, with expertise optimizing BigQuery SQL queries and scripts.
• Proficiency in Python-based ELT pipelines, Unix/Linux shell scripting, dbt, CI/CD pipelines, and a BI tool.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and machine learning experience.
