Salary: $110,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and monitor reliable ETL and ELT pipelines in Python and SQL across lakehouse Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Maintain ingestion from transactional MySQL systems into Vaniam Core and integrate third-party, client-provided, and product-generated data sources.
• Develop schemas, tables, views, documentation, data quality checks, lineage tracking, and governance controls.
• Collaborate with product, innovation, Data Science, and AI teams to productionize analytics, predictive features, dashboards, APIs, and decision-support tools.
• Monitor execution, storage, cluster performance, cost efficiency, and uptime while troubleshooting bottlenecks and data issues.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and contribute to CI/CD practices for data pipelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining pipelines in a lakehouse or modern data platform, including practical knowledge of Medallion architecture.
• Experience with Spark or PySpark, workflow orchestration such as Airflow or dbt, testing and observability frameworks, Docker, and Git-based version control.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and data governance skills, including security, privacy, compliance, and access control.
• Must be based in the United States; approved AI tools are used to streamline routine tasks, research, analysis, and workflow management.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Expertise with Delta Lake, metadata management, and data catalogs.
• Healthcare, scientific, or engagement data experience.
• Experience exposing analytics through APIs or lightweight microservices.
