What you will do

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance across commissioned laboratory instruments and integrated workcells.
• Perform instrument calibration, support IQ/OQ/PQ execution, and maintain qualification records.
• Respond to instrument alarms, failures, and performance anomalies during shifts.
• Complete in-scope repairs and escalate engineering-level issues to Hardware & Controls Engineering or Automation.
• Document preventive maintenance, repairs, incidents, and out-of-tolerance conditions in the CMMS.
• Coordinate vendor service visits, manage spare-parts inventory, and track MTBF and downtime trends.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on instrument maintenance experience in a research, clinical, or production laboratory.
• Experience maintaining biological research or analytical instruments.
• Working knowledge of pipetting-system calibration, fluidics troubleshooting, optical systems, and cell culture equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with biological safety and containment protocols.
• Strong documentation discipline and comfort working with a CMMS.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and execute preventive maintenance across multiple instrument families.

Nice to have

• Experience with CMMS platforms such as Maximo, eMaint, MaintainX, or Fiix.
• Experience authoring or executing IQ/OQ/PQ in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Vendor management and service-contract coordination experience.
• Exposure to robotic automation platforms or integrated workcells.
• Experience supporting shift-based operations in a 24/7 laboratory environment.
