Associate Reporter/Reporter (Financial Journalism)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid model requiring onsite work 50% of the time

Salary: $66,330 for Associate Reporter; $71,000–$75,000 for Reporter

What you will do

• Research and write accurate, timely daily news stories about institutional investment activity.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior investment decision-makers.
• Conduct telephone interviews with sources across the Americas.
• Analyse financial data, reports and other materials to identify relevant developments.
• Meet daily, monthly and quarterly editorial deadlines.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the MandateWire team.

Requirements

• Experience in journalism, preferably in financial services, investments, pensions or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, interviewing and telephone communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and workflows.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Collaborative and adaptable approach to working in a team.

Nice to have

• Previous experience interviewing senior professionals.
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
