Software Developer (Joomla)

Location: On-site in McLean, Virginia, United States

Basic compensation: $176,000–$215,100 annually for the Virginia area.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Joomla websites, web applications, and e-learning solutions using HTML and CSS.
• Develop Web-Based Training, online courses, and interactive learning content for mission and enterprise customers.
• Create and integrate multimedia content with Adobe Captivate, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Bridge, and PDF technologies.
• Customize Joomla sites to improve functionality, user experience, accessibility, and performance.
• Collaborate with instructional designers, content developers, and stakeholders to turn requirements into digital learning products.
• Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and document web and training applications, design standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
• At least 10 years of professional experience.
• Experience working in or supporting a training environment.
• Experience developing and maintaining Joomla-based websites, web applications, Web-Based Training, online courses, or other e-learning solutions.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, Adobe Captivate, and After Effects.
• Ability to work on-site in McLean, Virginia; travel requirements are minimal and working hours are standard.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, instructional technology, graphic design, multimedia development, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and SCORM-compliant course development.
• Experience with JavaScript or modern web development frameworks.
• Understanding of Section 508 accessibility and usability best practices.
• Experience developing responsive, mobile-friendly training solutions.
