Data Scientist (NLP)

Location: On-site in McLean, Virginia, United States

Basic compensation: $177,200–$216,500 annually for the Virginia area. Additional compensation may include bonuses, incentives, sign-on bonuses, or relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy NLP solutions with Python packages including SpaCy, Gensim, and NLTK.
• Design, train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras.
• Use Hugging Face Transformers and its model hub to build language models and text analytics solutions.
• Create and maintain models for text classification, topic modeling, information extraction, and related NLP tasks.
• Analyze personnel, intelligence, and performance metrics to identify trends, relationships, and actionable insights.
• Query and analyze large datasets with SQL and use GPU-accelerated environments for training, inference, and analytical processing.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
• At least 10 years of experience is required.
• Experience or academic exposure to Python-based NLP packages, deep learning frameworks, Hugging Face Transformers, text classification, and topic modeling.
• Experience using SQL to access, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
• Experience with GPU-accelerated computing and advanced statistical analysis.
• A bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical field is desired.

Nice to have

• Experience tuning large language models on custom datasets.
• Experience with cloud computing development and architectures.
• Experience with Spring Boot for backend applications and REST APIs.
