Data Scientist (Federal)

Location: Tysons, Virginia, United States. US citizenship and authorization to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship are required. Willingness to obtain a security clearance is required.

Salary: $136,000–$183,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Research, design, implement, and deploy machine learning algorithms, intelligent agents, and optimization solutions for enterprise applications.
• Use the C3 AI Suite to develop analytics capabilities for federal customers and support their application development.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, subject matter experts, stakeholders, executives, and customers.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new C3 AI Suite features.
• Debug and improve large machine learning codebases and drive projects independently or collaboratively.

Requirements

• US citizenship and US work authorization without current or future company sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, operations research, or an equivalent field.
• Applied machine learning experience with regression, classification, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, linear algebra, calculus, probability, and optimization.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly, present insights and strategies, and work independently and in a team.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, operations research, or an equivalent field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI or full-scope polygraph.
• Experience with deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, large language models, RAG, or agentic systems.
• Experience with constrained, stochastic, convex, or non-convex optimization.
• Experience using modern IDEs and AI agent tools in accelerated development workflows.
